  • DWC Proposes Tougher Fines for "Pattern" of Late Payments

    The Division of Workers' Compensation is trying to get a bit more serious with carriers who exhibit "patterns" of late payment of temporary disability benefits by proposing increases in possible fines, ranging up to $15,000 per violation for delays of more than 42 days.

    These proposals pertain to rules emanating from Labor Code Section 5814.6. The deadline to comment on these proposed changes is September 27, 2006.
