As expected, Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed SB 815 last week, the bill aimed at eventually doubling compensation benefits for injured workers in response to horror stories state-wide about the devastating impact the new rates have had.

In his veto message, the governor indicated that it hasn't been 18 months yet - the amount of time he'd decided was necessary following implementation of the new rating schedule before he could determine whether benefits were truly unfair to injured workers.
