EMPLOYERS Insurance has announced its enhanced workers' compensation insurance program for California's independent pharmacies.

Special insurance rates are being offered (in addition to a 25% reduction for small businesses previously announced) for small business pharmacies providing such services as delivery, durable medical equipment and compounding.

Retail pharmacies with at least three years in business without a lapse in coverage, no more than one claim in the last three years, no 24-hour operations, and a limited, 25-mile delivery area may qualify for coverage under the expanded EMPLOYERS underwriting guidelines.
