While the atmosphere at last week's ceremony installing Steve Poizner as the newly-elected head of the California Department of Insurance was generally happy, loud and positive, a group of demonstrators was present reminding the crowd about the inequities of the SB 899 workers' comp. reforms.

The protestors were from the California Coalition for Workers Memorial Day - dubbed by the WC Executive as a "front group" for the California Applicants Attorneys Association.
