Kern County Pipeline WC Case Morphs Into Big PI
What began last year as a horrific work accident in the oil fields of Kern County has now turned into a potentially huge lawsuit against Occidental Petroleum.
Last February, four employees of Production Services Network sustained severe burns when a pipeline ruptured, exploded and caught fire at the Elk Hills site of an Occidental Petroleum field.
Since then, evidence has apparently surfaced from a Cal/OSHA investigation that Occidental was aware of the unsafe condition of its pipeline and that it was in need of repair.
