LAPD Detective Caught Protecting Celebs While on WC Leave

The Los Angeles Times has reported that a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department (well, former one now), caught moonlighting as a bodyguard for the rich and famous while supposedly out on industrial leave, has pleaded guilty to felony workers' compensation fraud.

Another perjury charge was dismissed - that charge stemming from the officer lying during a deposition about the celebrity security job.

The 12-year veteran officer was ordered to pay $45,000 in restitution, perform community service and put on probation for 5 years.
