Editorial: Practicing Medicine Without a License in CA: Be a UR Doc!

We've reported about AB 2969, authored by Assemblywoman Sally Lieber, D-Mountain View, which would require utilization review doctors to be licensed in California.

(Last week we reported that the budget impasse is holding up review of the bill by the governor.)

Here is an excellent editorial on the issue from Dr. Robert L. Weinmann, a neurologist in San Jose who is the former president of the Union of American Physicians and Dentists, AFSCME, AFL-CIO (1989-2006) and is currently president of the UAPD Independent Practice Association.
