Analysis Shows Worker's Comp Carrier
Losses Exceeded Premiums in 2008

The California Workers Compensation Institute, a carrier sponsored organization, has finished its analysis of the annual data recently posted by the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau.

The analysis shows that, compared to the year before (2007), premiums dropped more than $2 billion to less than $11 billion total, while loss and expense payments rose to almost $11.2 billion.

We've provided a link to the organization's press release summarizing its analysis, along with an easy-to-read chart which breaks down all treatment, disability payments and overhead expenses for 2007 and 2008 - with comparison percentages for both years.
