  7th WCAB Commissioner Finally Appointed

After operating with 6 Commissioners for quite a while now, Governor Schwarzenegger has finally appointed someone to fill the seventh spot.

He's former California Assemblyman Greg Aghazarian, a Republican who had represented the 26th District (in San Joaquin County). As a legislator, he served on both the Natural Resources and Public Services committees. He graduated from USC and McGeorge School of Law (in Sacramento).

And while the governor's past Commissioner selections have involved people deeply entrenched within the workers' compensation community, Mr. Aghazarian is not. His record and background indicate experience, basically, as a politician (there was talk that he was considering running for other office before the appointment).

Hopefully the seasoned staff at the Board will help him acclimate into this very specialized area of law.
