IRS Lowers Mileage Rate for 2010
DWC Should Follow
 

Although there has been no official announcement yet from the Division of Workers' Compensation, we should expect one soon in light of the IRS' recent announcement that it is dropping its standard mileage rate figure next month to $ .50 per mile.

Labor Code section 4600, in conjunction with Government Code section 19820 and the Department of Personnel Administration regulations, establishes that the rate to be used for purposes of medical treatment in workers' compensation matters shall be tied to the IRS rate.

As soon as we receive official word from the DWC confirming next year's rate, we'll post it here.
